Hello!
I’m Carla Braddy.

Hi, I’m Carla Braddy—a proud lifelong resident of Cañon City, a mom, grandma, small business owner, and someone who believes with all my heart in the power of community and the promise of our kids.

Both of my children grew up right here, attended our local schools, and loved this town so much they’ve moved back—or close—so they can raise their families here too. I’m expecting a grandchild in September, and more than ever, I feel called to help create a future that’s bright, supportive, and full of opportunity—starting with our schools.

I believe learning should be an adventure! Kids should feel safe, seen, and excited to discover who they are and what they’re capable of. I want to help blend strong academics with curiosity, creativity, and kindness—so that every student feels prepared not just for tests, but for life. To me, education should reflect both the richness of the world around us and the values we hold close here in Cañon City: compassion, resilience, and community.

A huge part of my life has been shaped by travel and cultural exploration. I’ve had the privilege of experiencing life through many different lenses—from different places, people, and traditions—and that has always been something I’ve worked to pass on to my children. I believe it's vital that our students become not just book-smart, but world-ready.

Our kids deserve the chance to understand and appreciate how others live, think, and grow beyond the borders of our hometown. That kind of cultural awareness builds empathy, broadens perspectives, and helps create well-rounded, open-hearted humans who are ready to thrive in a diverse world. I know how fortunate I’ve been to gain these experiences, and I carry that perspective into everything I do—including how I parent, how I lead, and how I plan to serve on the school board.

I’ve always loved supporting others and bringing out the light in people. I give back however I can—through volunteer work, donations, and just showing up for the causes that matter. I’m a big believer in inclusion, in making sure there’s room for everyone at the table, and in ensuring that our kids grow up knowing they belong.

Professionally, I run Coming Home Group with Real as a full-time Realtor and supervising broker, and I also founded The Hive, a collaborative co-working space downtown. I’ve served as a board member of the Royal Gorge Association of Realtors and serve on the board of the Royal Gorge Chamber Alliance.

When I’m not working or volunteering, you’ll probably find me out enjoying this beautiful area with my two rescue Huskies, at a local concert or play, or unwinding with yoga and meditation.

Cañon City is my home. I love this place and the people in it. I’m running for school board because I believe in our kids, our educators, and our future—and I’m ready to bring passion, perspective, and positivity to the work ahead.

Let’s make learning an adventure worth taking. The world is waiting—and I can’t wait to get started!
